How Difficult Is Overseas Outsourcing?

Unless you have your own manufacturing contacts overseas, you will have to go through some kind of broker in order to reach the manufacturers you need.  If you were able to find the manufacturers yourself, you would have to be fluent in the local language and customs, plus take the time to get to know them and develop mutual trust (which is very important in Asian societies).  In addition, you'd need to be able to talk manufacturing, (see the next question) and know about local conventions used in language and business practices.  Domestic suppliers of outsourced products do not want you to buy direct from suppliers like Asian Castings Consortium.  They want you to pay higher prices for a landed product.  We can save you money by showing you just how easy it is to import your own products.  Importing your products into your home country is absolutely easier than you've been led to believe!

Why Should I Go Through Asian Castings?

We are in the casting and machining business.  We maintain a permanent presence in Taiwan, the heart of Asia.  Not only do we know the local language and customs, we also know the technical language of manufacturing.  We have native speakers of Mandarin, Taiwanese and English who can competently handle any situation.  We talk "foundry to foundry" so you don't have to.  In business meetings we have personally held in Taiwan, some of the attendants said one thing in English, another thing in Mandarin (Chinese) and a totally different thing in Taiwanese.  Good thing we know all 3 languages!

Don't Overseas Suppliers Pay Slave Wages?

We've encountered this question before, and its usually a negative selling technique.  In order to understand the economics of wages, one must take the local cost-of-living into consideration.  In Taiwan, wages are 1/3 to 1/2 of the average American wage.  The cost-of-living in Taiwan is also 1/3 to 1/2 of what it is in the United States.  To say that Taiwan pays "slave wages" is to say that the US pays "rich  wages."  We know that is not true - its all relative.  China's average wages are 1/10th of Taiwan's - and  China's cost-of-living is proportionate to that.  So, if you tried to pay an American the same wage as a Chinese, then yes - it would be a "slave wage."  However, that Chinese wage is comparable to the Chinese cost-of-living.  In Taiwan, the number of BMW and Mercedes-Benz automobiles if so prolific that the slave wage argument just cannot be made.  Taiwan is an extremely well developed and prosperous country.

Are Overseas Workers Safe?

We have found overseas workers to be very well trained and perform their jobs in a safe manner.   Every country has its own regulatory agencies, and the manufacturers we use comply with the laws which are in place in each country, in addition to demonstrating concern for worker safety and proper work environment beyond what the law requires.  Remember, Asian Castings is a consortium which is lead by an American outsourcing specialist.

What Are The Hidden Costs Of Overseas Outsourcing?

There may be costs which are unforeseen to you, but nothing is hidden.   This is another reason why its important for you to work with someone who has successfully outsourced from Asia - we know what these costs are.  Generally speaking, the costs are of the manufactured parts themselves, and those associated with importing them into the United States.  There are fixed costs per shipment, so going over the process is important so you understand what those costs are.  Asian Castings' quotations are "for real" and do not contain charges which were  tacked on at the end just because we want to make more money.  We can give you a quote for the parts alone up to the delivered cost, thanks to our strong consortium of suppliers and freight forwarders.

How Much Does A Quote Cost?

It costs nothing for us to give you a quote!  Upon receipt of your drawings and specifications, we will get a detailed quote to you, typically within 1 week.  Please note that some Chinese suppliers can take up to 3 weeks to provide a quotation.  We will do our best to expedite your quote, but the shipping aspect can be time consuming, especially for new, never-made-before parts for which there is no packaging design.   We will have to study your drawings/specifications and recommend packaging for shipment and then estimate the shipping costs from that recommendation.
